Streaming Video
Mediasite Live allows video of your event or class to be streamed over the internet live (synchronous), archived and viewed on-demand
(asynchronous VoD), or both. The Mediasite viewer features two windows: one for capturing video of
you and one for your laptop. Our portable equipment allows you to originate your presentation from anywhere on campus. Our
distance learning classrooms, however, are pre-configured for streaming and allow incorporation
of other video sources, such as DVD/VHS playback or document camera. Video from alternative sources, such as videoconferences
and satellite teleconferences, may also be streamed through Mediasite. Streaming Audio
Using a portable recorder and microphone, individuals can capture audio to be archived and accessed on demand.
The compact flash card can easily be removed and the file downloaded onto your computer using a compact flash reader. From
your computer, the file may then be burned to CD or uploaded onto a server for podcasting. Larger groups have the option of
using one of the distance learning classrooms, which are equipped with ceiling-mounted microphones. |
